In 1962, Dr. Felix Zandman funded his cousin Alfred P. Slaner and founded Vishay. The company's initial products include foil resistors and foil resistance strain gauges. Today, Vishay is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components. Vishay mainly offers the following product categories: Semiconductors (including MOSFETs, ICs, rectifiers, small signal diodes, protection diodes, thyristors / SCRs, IGBTs, power modules and optoelectronics) and passive components (including resistors, magnetics, capacitors).
